The Institute of Professional Goldsmiths is made up of members and fellows who are practising craftsman and women recognised for their high standard of professional accomplishment.

Fellowship

Applicants must have experience consisting of a minimum of four years' training followed by not less then ten years' full-time employment within the trade.  In addition applicants may be required to attend an interview where their work can be examined.  Fellowship permits at once the right to use the distinctive letters FIPG and to use the IPG punch mark on their work.  Every Fellow receives a certificate and can be included on the IPG website if they wish.  All Fellows receive the IPG Magazine, the Drillstock, and are able to participate in Institute activities.

Membership

Applicants for membership are seen as potential Fellows of the Institute.  They must have experience consisting of a minimum of 4 years training and be practising their craft.  They will be required to attend an interview where their work can be examined.  Once accepted as a member they will receive a certificate, the Drillstock and will be able to participate in all Institute activities.  However, the Members will not be able to use the IPG logo or use the IPG punch mark on their work.  Nor will they be eligible for entry on the IPG website.  Once accepted as a member they will be informed when they will be expected to apply for Fellowship.
