Objectives of the IPG History of the IPG

IPG's structure, headed by the General Committee provides a mechanism for all members to voice views and influence policy development. The goldsmiths role in modern society can be an exciting and satisfying challenge. The inherent skills are practiced today with pride, and magnificent work is the result. Men and women are better informed and less willing to accept lower standards where creative effort is required. Those they work with often inspire them, and advice and encouragement are forthcoming for younger colleagues, guiding their talents into the most effective channels. Many craftspeople start self employment with objectives for professionalism and originality. Their personal ambition for achievement and the desire for status and recognition from society needs adequate rewards.
The IPG brings together talented people who, if needed, could accomplish many things. It is a representational body unlike any other, providing a common bond and practical assistance to the goldsmith to meet today's challenge.
