Trained as a diamond mounter with family
firm in 1939. Experience in tool making and machine tools through firm
taking on work during World War 11.
Specialised in designing master patterns
for lost wax casting in addition to managing a casting department, stamping
shop, diamond-milling and polishing shops as well as a traditional workshjop.
Consultant on projects ranging from
specially designed fine jewellery to quantity production of more modestly
priced articles.
Awarded Honorary Master of Arts degree by
London Guildhall University for services to education and training.
Awards: 1st Prize deBeers engagement ring
competition 1964, 2nd Prize 1965. Garrard Gold Medal for services to the
Trade.
