Having won Highly Commended in 1971, in his
first year as an apprentice Hand Engraver he achieved a prize in subsequent
years 1972 /1973 as apprentice of the year. After completing his
apprenticeship he established a workshop which has been highly successful
for the last 28 years.
He engraves for over 100 quality retail
outlets, mainly in the south east, but also in other parts of the country
and the world. Has engraved for all the Royal family as well as Presidents,
Kings, Sultans and to the Chief Netsuke maker of Japan. In 1993 had the
honour of being granted the Freedom of the Company of Goldsmiths and also
gained the honour of the Freedom of the City of London.
Work Undertaken:
As a Hand Engraver he can offer to his customers the highest quality hand
engraving service, normally within 7-10 days. Specialises in Heraldic
Crests and Coats of Arms engraved on anything from a signet ring to a
salver; and Seal Engraving on any precious metal. Individual and unique
commissions are undertaken and whilst being an engraver as well as a
precious metal craftsman. He can also create the article to be engraved,
using both flair and design and is able to achieve the customers wishes
which has been the hallmark of his success.
Musical instrument makers, including those
making silver flutes to antique trumpets and anyone who has a difficult or
unusual job, which requires traditional work with imaginative ideas, have
also sought him out. He also engraves restoration pieces which include
antique furniture, period clocks, antique guns, swords, guitar frets and
such like:- sympathetic restoration to harmonise to the original piece.
He can also
accommodate the larger corporate presentation which include company names
and logos, on anything from miniature clocks to large salvers. Rarely is it
that we cannot undertake any job or commission. |
